(Finance) – “I expect an in-depth investigation into the situation of banks and financial intermediaries at an international level which are a fundamental component of the economic system”. This was said by the governor of the Bank of Italy, Fabio Panetta, interviewed by Tg1 in Stresa, where the G7 Finance meeting is underway, underlining that “it is essential that ministers and the governors of the central banks of the major countries see ic“face the conditions of their countries to prevent any tensions”.
On the topic of technological innovation, another topic at the top of the summit’s priorities, Panetta explained that “phases of technological innovation they bring prosperity and growth, improve the economic and living conditions of citizens. However, there is a transition phase in which some may have disadvantages. It is necessary to govern these transition phases, invest in using innovative technologies and have the working skills available and training. In these meetings we will also talk about how to fully benefit from the technological revolution we are experiencing.”
As a “wish” for the G7 in Stresa, Panetta concluded: “Doing something good for Italy, for Europe and without forgetting the countries that have worse living conditions than oursboth because there are people who suffer, and because there could be effects destabilizing by excess inequalities”.
