Panama recognizes the opposition candidate as the rightful winner of Venezuela’s disputed presidential election.

“Panama joins in recognizing Edmundo González Urrutia as Venezuela’s elected president,” said Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino in a post on X.

In recent days, the pressure has increased on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who declared himself victorious after Sunday’s election, despite the opposition claiming that they were in fact victorious.
