Charlotte Baris: It is August 1, 2023 and for the first time in history, a former American president must submit to a legal ID photo, called a “mugshot” in the United States. The billionaire was just arrested for his attempts to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.
A year and a half after this historic photo, Donald Trump made a resounding return to the head of the United States. And, as we know, this is not the only episode that the new president has had with the law.
In early January 2025, he was convicted in the Stormy Daniels affair but got off without prison or fine. In total, the American president is targeted by 88 charges, both criminal and civil. Donald Trump now has control over the Department of Justice and he intends to take revenge on all his enemies. And to achieve this objective, he chose a woman: Pam Bondi… An appointment which is not surprising for our correspondent in the United States, Hélène Vissière.
