The survival game Palworld goes into early access on Steam and Xbox on January 19, 2024. Streamers on Twitch are already showing what players can expect and the “Pokémon with a creak” looks really crazy.
What kind of game is this? Palworld is a survival shooter that the internet has lovingly dubbed “Pokémon with a Gun.” In contrast to other monster collectors, you should not only send your “Pals” into battle, but also let them work for you in factories and even eat them.
This crazy mix makes many people curious and gives Palworld a place among the most wanted games on Steam. The survival game will go into early access on January 19, 2024, but it already has thousands of viewers on Twitch.
Twitch hit with human trafficking and bird butts
How is Palworld on Twitch? Palworld is preparing to become a hit on Twitch even before its release. Some larger streamers like Rubius, the “Spanish xQc”, and the shooter streamer Lirik are already showing the game to tens of thousands of viewers (via sullygnome).
At its peak, Palworld even had just over 104,000 simultaneous viewers. This means that it currently plays in a league with long-established titles such as Escape from Tarkov and Rust. In the meantime, the crazy survival shooter even went head to head with Fortnite. It is currently ranked 16th among the games with the highest audience peak in the last 3 days (via sullygnome).
What are the first impressions? To put it briefly: completely crazy. With more than 27,000 views, the most viewed clip currently shows streamer “Coney,” to his surprise, catching a human instead of a chicken.
Although the game immediately informs him that this practice is viewed as morally reprehensible, it does not prevent him from selling the captured human to the nearest dealer. Coney has already discovered the first “meta” in the game: human trafficking (via Twitch).
If that’s too unethical for you, you can simply process your prisoners into meat (via Twitch).
Other clips show Pals being used as flamethrowers or as bizarre grenade launchers – no points if you can guess where the exploding eggs are coming from:
A factor that contributes to Palworld’s popularity on Twitch is, in addition to the anticipation of the players, also the curiosity as to whether this is even a real game. After all, many people still have memories of The Day Before, which went from being the most wanted game on Steam to the supposed “scam of the year”.
So it’s hardly surprising that potential players want to get an idea of the game first. Apart from that, the absurd clips are also really damn entertaining.
