Most of Palworld’s gameplay elements rely on you catching Pals and having them work for you in your base. A player has not yet captured a Pal and has now defeated the first boss. And he has imposed this huge handicap on himself for a very special reason
What kind of run does the player play? reddit user gonnaputmydickinit is celebrated on reddit for reaching level 15 in Palworld and killing the first boss without even catching a pal. Creating an “only human” run is quite challenging, as catching and deploying Pals is one of the core mechanics of the game.
How does the player prove his statement? The gamer posted an excerpt of his Steam achievements on reddit. It shows that he has achieved the Hillside Sovereign achievement.
Directly below, but grayed out, you can see what is usually the first achievement: Beginning of the Legend. The player defeated the first boss combination of Zoe and Grizzbolt without catching a single Pal.
Palworld, without catching a single Pal – Can this work?
How does the gamer do this? In the comments, the redditor explains his approach:
The player is now level 15 and, according to his own statements, can manage level 13 dungeons with almost no problems.
Are there any difficulties for an only human run? gonnaputmydickinit also addresses this. According to his own statement, he does not have access to many resources.
For example, he cannot get Iron Ingots because they require a Fire Pal. Accordingly, he cannot produce many pieces of equipment and cannot go beyond a primitive workbench. Weapons cannot be repaired either and he always has to buy them new.
A great nerfed run – because he’s waiting for his wife
Why does the player go through with this? In a comment in the thread, the Reddit user explains why he chose such a difficult run in Palworld. In it he says that his wife also wants to play Palworld, but only later. She’s still waiting for a few patches.
You can find our news about the current patch notes here: New update 0.1.4.1 finally fixes the catch bug and more
However, he himself probably wanted to get started and decided on a completely nerfed run in which he didn’t experience many of the core mechanics. So he can get started now without having too much of an advantage over his wife when they end up playing together.
How does the community react? The other reddit users congratulate gonnaputmydickinit on his achievement. FateFan2018, for example, compares the run to the 12 heroic deeds of Hercules from Greek mythology. User WackDance, on the other hand, says he has been wondering for a long time what it would be like to play Palworld like a Monster Hunter game.
Others help out with tips and tricks. User Fun-Incident-8238 points out, among other things, that Pal Bushi leaves behind iron ingots when he dies. With_Hands_And_Paper leaves the info that Astegon drops Pal Ingots.
With the tips from Reddit users, the only human run should become a bit easier. What about you: Would you take on this challenge? Or do you basically play Palworld without catching Pals? If yes why? We are very excited about your comments!
