Hundreds of Palestinians are said to leave their homes in the refugee camp Fa’ra, on occupied the West Bank, after Israel escalated his efforts there.
The streets in Fa’ra have been torn down by Israeli bulldozers. The area with approximately 8,000 inhabitants has been hit hard in the escalation of the raid that Israel is reported to be directed at militant Palestinians. The water supply and electricity supply have been shut down and residents say that wastewater seeps into the broken roads.
Over the past week, Israel has also closed all roads leading to and from the camp and prevented deliveries of food and other supplies, according to Asim Mansour from the local Palestinian board in Fa’ra.
On Saturday, the Israeli military is said to have secured a passage for civilians to leave the area. According to Mansour, at least 1,000 inhabitants have moved.
Israel’s military has not answered AP’s questions about the evacuations from the refugee camp.
After the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into force in January, the military began raised raids on the Northern West Bank – an escalation even from the regular nightly raids for which the area was exposed to Hamas terrorist act against Israel on October 7, 2023, AP writes.
Israel has stated that the efforts are made for terrorist purposes.
