The Palace of Versailles outside Paris has been evacuated after a new bomb threat, according to sources, reports Le Figaro.
“Dear visitors, for security reasons, the Palace of Versailles is being evacuated for visitors and will be closed today, Tuesday, October 17,” it says on the palace’s X account, formerly Twitter.
On Saturday afternoon, both Versailles and the giant Louvre museum in central Paris closed after reports of bomb threats. That incident came a day after a teacher was stabbed to death in the city of Arras in northern France in an act that is being investigated as a terrorist crime.
