The incident has created great anger in the Muslim world. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned the burning in a televised speech and several countries have summoned Sweden’s ambassador due to the Koran burning, including Kuwait, Morocco, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.
Prime Minister Sharif held a meeting on Tuesday where the burning of the Koran in Stockholm was discussed, according to a statement.
According to Sharif, the purpose of the protest, in which all political parties are also invited to participate, is to “send a message to the bad guys”.
