A Charing Cross resident faces charges after a man pointed a pellet gun at two people, Chatham-Kent policed say.
Officers responding to a weapons call on Grand Avenue East in Chatham just after noon Tuesday found a man holding a firearm, police said. He put the weapon on a chair when directed.
The officers learned that two people who walked into an alley after hearing a commotion encountered a man who pointed a firearm at them and said he’d shoot if they got any closer, police said.
Officers arrested a suspect and seized a pellet gun, police said.
A Charing Cross man, 77, is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm and uttering threats, police said. He was held pending a bail hearing,
Chatham man charged with assault
A Chatham man has been charged after an altercation at a Chatham business, Chatham-=Kent police say.
Officers called to a Lacroix Street store about 11 am Tuesday learned a man had become upset with an employee, shoved them, knocked off their glasses and left, police said.
Officers arrested a suspect later in the day, police said.
A Chatham man, 36, is charged with assault and mischief, police said. He was released with conditions and a July 17 short date.
Chatham woman faces assault rap
A Chatham woman was charged after a domestic dispute Tuesday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police say.
Officers called to the Landings Place subdivision at 3:45 pm Tuesday learned a woman punched a man in the face during an argument, police said. A suspect was arrested.
A Chatham woman, 34, is charged with assault, police said. She was released with conditions and a July 10 short date.
