Medications used during pregnancy sometimes cause symptoms such as attention deficit and autism in children. Therefore, the use of drugs during pregnancy brings with it various risks.”

Underlining that many expectant mothers have to cope with severe pain during pregnancy, Prof. Dr. Yücel Karaman said, “Many pain relievers play a greater role in the vital values of the baby than anticipated. Some groups of painkillers can dilute the blood and cause excessive bleeding. It can even lead to a decrease in the baby’s water, especially from the 34th week of pregnancy, until the baby dies unexpectedly due to the closure of the vein called ductusarteriosus. Therefore, every drug to be taken should be taken within the knowledge and recommendation of the doctor, and the risks should always be considered.
“HOW SAFE ARE ANTIBIOTICS?”
Stating that antibiotics used due to infections, especially painkillers, have a critical importance during pregnancy, Prof. Dr. Yucel Karaman; “The use of medication may be mandatory in the case of infectious conditions such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, dental treatments, sinusitis, and abscesses. Although pregnancy does not directly prevent the use of antibiotics, antibiotics taken in order to maintain the delicate balance should be under the control of a doctor, just like painkillers. In fact, the doctor who decides on the treatment should make this decision by making elbow contact with the obstetrician, and most importantly, the antibiotics that are least likely to cause harm should be selected.
