The construction of padel courts leads to resistance from local residents in more places. There is now one national hotline where people can complain. The website of the hotline mentions two cases in our province. For example, tennis association LTC wanted to build padel courts in Soest, but saw that from there when an investigation into noise pollution was so disappointing that the association decided to withdraw the permit application.
In Mijdrecht, De Ronde Vener and TV Mijdrecht created three padel courts. Once the jobs were in place, there were complaints from the neighborhood about noise nuisance. The tennis clubs then placed a noise barrier (40 meters wide, 6 meters high), after which the number of complaints about too loud noise was reduced to a minimum.
