Between those who do it several days in advance and those who do it at the last minute… Preparing your suitcases for the holidays is proving to be a real source of stress for the French, according to a recent survey .

Who said holidays were a long calm river? According to a study conducted by Nannybag, a luggage storage company, a quarter of French people are stressed about packing their bags. For good reason, they are afraid of leaving by forgetting certain things. Conversely, nearly one in two French people (42%) feel joy when preparing their things, a time synonymous with vacation. For a quarter of the French, it is on the contrary a chore.

33% do it the day before for the next day

To avoid leaving without their toothbrush, pajamas or phone charger, one out of two respondents packs their suitcase several times, a few days before leaving. 33% do it the day before for the next day while 16% fill them a few hours before departure. And to each his own method. If 75% of respondents fold their clothes, 16.7% say they are “very methodical” to put them away.

Luggage weight can be a problem, especially when traveling by air. While 42% of French people say they respect the weight limit, more than one person in two admits to exceeding it and 3% admit to exceeding it often. However, nearly 60% of French people confess to wearing only half of the clothes they take on vacation. Only a third say they have worn almost everything.
