Packaging, Mascarino (Federalimentare): “Vote in the EU, great victory for Italy”

Packaging Mascarino Federalimentare Vote in the EU great victory for

(Finance) – “With the vote of the European Parliament on Packaging Regulation Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) which exempts Member States that have achieved a recycling percentage of 85% from reusing packaging, crosses the line of reasonablenessof Italy’s common sense and scientific evidence, which opposed the ideological vision that emerged in the Environment Commission with data, numbers and analyzes to support its theses, thus avoiding incalculable damage to our country that would have affected the production system”. This was stated in a note on President of Federalimentare Paolo Mascarino.

“Having found a balanced dropping point that would not penalize our industry of the collection in favor of reuse, it is certainly a victory for Italy and for the entire sector which has been able to count on excellent team work which has seen institutions, businesses, industrial and social systems cohesive towards a common goal”.

A thank you – continues Mascarino – goes to the Government and to the ministers Adolfo Urso, Francesco Lollobrigida and Antonio Tajani who prevented the national production system from being heavily compromised both on an employment and economic level and who it would have canceled a virtuous path of over twenty yearsin which Italy has become a leader on the topic of recycling, contributing to the growth of the agri-food chain which, let us remember, is worth over 30% of the Italian GDP”.

“With today’s vote – concludes Mascarino – the environment wins, the virtuous model of Italian recycling wins and Italy certainly wins”.
