A person has been slightly injured after opening a package in an apartment on Lidingö outside Stockholm.
When the package was opened, it exploded.
– It has caused damage to the face, says police spokesperson Ola Österling.
The alarm came just before 13, and according to the police, it may be about some kind of cartridge that exploded.
An effort is underway in the residential area located in the Torsvik district of Lidingö.
– We have cordoned off the apartment and are interviewing those who were there to find out what this could be about. Forensic technicians are on site, says Ola Österling.
Unclear when the package was delivered
The police closed the lidingö bridge to traffic for a short while to check passing vehicles. A helicopter also took part in the operation. The bridge is now open again.
It is unclear how the person received the package.
– That is what we will try to find out now. It could be that the package was there for six months before someone opened it, we don’t know that, says Ola Österling.
Serious assault
The case is classified as aggravated assault. There are currently no suspects or arrests.
– There is a mapping and questioning of the people who live in the apartment in order to thereby find a possible suspected perpetrator, says Ola Österling.
The affected person has minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for a check-up.
