The Welcome Back to Otterville studio tour is scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 from 10 am to 5 pm in the historic Norwich Township village. Local shops will be offering unique products while the artist studios will be showcasing a variety of art, including mixed-media pieces.

New on the tour this year is Sharon and Beverly Garner and their Pieces IV Places, where they “bring new life to unique pieces of furniture with fun, fanciful fabric, color and papers.”

“You will discover a mixture of treasures to complement your home,” the Garners said in a media release.

Another destination on the tour, Rooted in Floral, is an Otterville shop that offers original nature-inspired floral designs by owner Annette Lilley using dried and artificial products. The store, which will only be open for the tour on the Saturday, also features soaps by Jaydancin, vintage collectibles, jewelry and holiday décor.

A community staple since 1916, Ralph Moore & Sons has earned a glowing reputation for growing and producing bird seed and seed mixtures. Only open on the Saturday of the tour, this shop will be selling a wide assortment of bird feeders, wild-bird seed mixtures, suet, whole grains, cage bird accessories and mixtures, pigeon accessories and mixtures, and spray millet that’s grown on its local farms.

Plaid Shirt Farms will be another highlight of the Welcome Back to Otterville tour. Known for its delicious products grown on its farm east of the village, Plaid Shirt specializes in haskap berries and black currants, and has developed some delectable jams and juices.

Of course, Welcome Back to Otterville wouldn’t be complete without visiting the local artists and their home studios. A group of professional artists – Sue Goossens, Lianne Todd, Marlene Long, Linda DeJonghe, Mae Leonard and Shirley Hokke – will each be welcoming folks into their respective home studios to share their incredible work.

Each artist has a unique style and works in different mediums, organizers noted.

“They are passionate about their art and are quite willing to discuss their process and inspiration,” tour organizers said in the release.

The tour website, www.welcomebacktootterville.ca, features photos of the artists’ works and a map to all of the studios and store locations. Yellow flags will also mark each location on the days of the tour. More information is also available by calling 519-879-6352.
