There were three private individuals who bought the base in 2005 from the air force who now want to sell. Some of the stakeholders are now asking about the possibility of using it as an airfield again.
In addition to several airstrips, 111.8 hectares of productive forest land is also included.
In the years since the Åmsele base was sold, it has been used, among other things, by the University of Police and for drag racing competitions.
– A purchase of a forest property such as this must always be tested by the county administrative board in order to obtain approval. It’s usually never a problem. If the buyer comes from Russia or China, it is a question for our lawyers and Swedish authorities, says Anton Cederberg.
By the end of the year, the goal is for the Åmsele base to be sold.
– I expect that there will be a price of several million kroner, says Anton Cederberg.
