Although Overwatch 2’s Season 6: Invasion event is in full swing, players are having a hard time due to the problems brought by the update.
An Overwatch 2 player played a game online without others due to a recent server issue. This odd Overwatch 2 match even led to bizarre gameplay footage featuring one of the best Game Moment highlights.
Unexpected bugs due to new Overwatch 2 update
Overwatch 2 released a major update on August 24 that includes a balance and many bug fixes for new support hero Illari. However, after the update was released, some players experienced server lag, disconnections, and other weird events.
Reddit user and Overwatch 2 player Goku-sann shared his struggles with his own server issues. Shortly after the update went live, Goku-sann entered the iconic Overwatch 2 map Watchpoint: Gibraltar match. However, for some reason, no other players were loaded into Goku-sann’s match. Since there was no one to fight without the enemy, Goku-sann silently slid the map under his feet as Lucio, leading the transporter to his destination.
It is difficult to say for sure what caused this strange phenomenon. Despite Overwatch 2’s poor Steam reviews, many still play the game. Therefore, it is definitely not due to the lack of players. Given that other fans are experiencing similar disconnects and issues, the likely explanation is that there was a bug in the matchmaking servers after the patch and Illari appeared in competitive matches.
It’s clear that Goku-sann and other Overwatch 2 players thoroughly enjoyed the video. Many have congratulated him for sharing one of the best Overwatch 2 Gameplay Moments highlights they’ve ever seen using Lucio’s Moonwalk emote. Others have also shared their own stories of server issues.
The update was the biggest change in recent times
Overwatch 2’s Season 6: Invasion event is in full swing, bringing the biggest changes the game has seen in recent times. Players got the opportunity to play Illari, fight on massive new Flashpoint maps, and experience the Overwatch 2 Story Missions and new Underground PvE mode.
While it’s clear that there are still many legitimate complaints against Overwatch 2, it’s fair to say that the game has been in good shape since it went into early access.
