The 2022 Halloween event has finally started in Overwatch 2. To mark the occasion, we’re showing you a way to get a free skin for Winston through Twitch Drops.

What is this skin? This is the legendary skin of the tank Winston. This one is called Werewolf and completely changes the appearance of your silverback. Not only do you get a creepy jetpack made of green glowing tree trunks, but also nasty teeth and green glowing eyes with torn clothes.

Overwatch 2 doesn’t officially offer you a free skin for the event this time, but with Twitch you still get the chance to grab one. We’ll show you how to do it.

If you haven’t seen the trailer for this year’s Halloween event yet, we’ll include it here:

This is how you get the Halloween skin for Winston

How do I get the skin? The Werewolf skin can be obtained through Twitch Drops. You need a working Twitch and Battle.net account. If you own both, all you have to do is link them together on Battle.net.

Then you choose a streamer who has “Drops enabled” or “Drops activated” under his stream and broadcasts Overwatch 2 live. You then have to watch this for a total of six hours.

After the first two hours you will receive the “Werewolf Winston Spray” and then after four more hours you will receive the “Werewolf Winston Skin”.

After the first two hours, you must redeem your reward on Twitch in the Drops menu to start the four hours for the skin. You can also redeem this there after the four hours. If you don’t do this, your drops will be lost after 7 days, so don’t forget this step.

What items are free? Overall, Twitch Prime gives you two items for free:

  • Werewolf Winston Spray – For 2 hours watched
  • Werewolf Winston Skin – For 4 hours watched
  • How long is the offer? You have time for the skin of Winston from October 25, 8 p.m. to November 6, 8 p.m. After that, the event is considered missed and no longer valid.

A small hint: Not everyone has the desire or the time to watch a foreign streamer play for 4 hours. You often want to sit at the controller or the keyboard yourself and go into battle.

To still bag the rewards, you can let the stream run silently in the background on your cell phone or PC. In the meantime, you can gamble or do other things yourself and get your rewards that way.
