The parking lot around the shopping center is busy all day long. “Well, it could be a bit neater,” says Den Boer, pointing to a number of loose crates, shelves and waste containers on the sidewalk in front of a restaurant. There are some loose shopping carts here and there in the parking lots, otherwise the amount of rubbish is not too bad. It is also clean inside. There is no waste around the trash cans and the floor appears to have just been mopped. As Casas Valle walks across the floor, she points out a subsidence. “That needs to be addressed, it is not accessible to everyone.” The ladies have many questions about the construction of 2,500 homes. “It is good that houses are being built, but this is a huge ossification of the environment.”
