Overcrowded waiting lists at football clubs, but solving that problem is not that easy

Too many players too little space football clubs are outgrowing

“We have about 140 children on the waiting list,” sighs Norbert van Hengstum of VV Hooglanderveen. That association started in 1944 as a small village club, but when the Amersfoort Vinex district Vathorst was built right next to the village at the beginning of this century, this also meant hundreds of new aspiring members. And so the club moved to a larger complex, with space for all those football players.
