Over a thousand migrants forcibly displaced from Tunisia to desert areas

Tunisia has become a hub for migrants and asylum seekers trying to reach Europe. But in Tunisia they are not welcome, nor in Algeria or Libya.

Security forces have this month forcibly relocated more than a thousand people out of Tunisia to a desert region bordering Libya and Algeria, according to Human Rights Watch.

While bodies continue to wash up on Tunisia’s shores, others are now left to die in the desert.

“They left us without water and food in the desert and told us to leave” – hear the testimonies from the desert area in the video above.
