A paramilitary attack south of Sudan’s capital Khartoum killed at least ten people on Saturday in the six-month civil war.
The death toll has thus risen to over 9,000, AFP reports and refers to the organization Acled, which monitors deaths in war.
The number of people killed, but where the deaths have not been confirmed, is believed to be clearly higher.
The fighting is mainly between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF).
According to a “resistance committee” reporting from the war, residential buildings in the town were bombed by paramilitary forces.
The bombs fell in civilian homes, the organization quoted by AFP said, in the town of Jabal Awliya, which is located five kilometers south of the capital.
About 4.3 million residents of Sudan have been forced to flee their homes to become internally displaced persons during ongoing fighting. Another 1.2 million inhabitants have left Sudan because of the war.
