Over 370 episodes (!) of a legendary anime that only has one small problem

Along with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach is also one of the Big Three: the three most popular manga and anime in the mid-2000s. The original anime is now continued with the sequel Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War and thus receives after an 11 year break still a well deserved degree.

Disney + had Bleach fans fidgeting for a long time. Four months after launch in Japan Thousand Year Blood War finally also in Germany accessible. You can now stream the first season with 13 episodes on Disney+. And not only that: everyone 366 episodes of the first Bleach series the streamer has also included in the program. But there is a catch.

Finally on Disney+: Bleach continues after 11 years

Based on Tite Kubo’s long-running Mange series, the anime series Bleach tells the story of adolescent Ichigo Kurosaki, who becomes drawn into a supernatural conflict between death gods called the Shinigami and soul-eating spirits called the Hollow. An epic story unfolds from this, which was told to the end in the 2016 manga. The anime adaptation was originally run by 2004 to 2012 for a total of 366 episodes.

Despite the monumental length of Bleach, the series didn’t manage to follow the manga to the end. After many years of uncertainty, the redeeming message came: A sequel anime will be in 52 episodes (4 seasons) also the final major story arc adapt the manga template.

In Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, the mysterious Wandenreich group invades the Soul Society and the centuries-old Conflict between Shinigami and Quincy escalates in a devastating war.

Dampener for anime fans: Bleach is not (yet) available in German

At IMDB, the Thousand Year Blood War shows off one Rating of 9.1. So anime fans are rightly looking forward to the launch of the first 13 episodes of the new Bleach series on Disney+. If there wasn’t a little problem.

All 379 episodes of Bleach and Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War lie unfortunately not in German before. At Disney + you can only watch the two series in the Japanese original with English subtitles or with an English dubbed version.

If you want to watch Bleach in German or in the original with German subtitles, you will be disappointed at first. It is currently not known whether a subtitle option or even a dubbed version will be submitted in the near future.

However, a complete publication of Bleach in German is not possible at the moment. So far there is only one dubbed version for 205 of the 366 episodes the original series. These have been released on DVD and Blu-ray.
