Over 31 million people are waiting for the new game from a former Zelda developer – now it has a release

Infinity Nikki is a free game from the game designer of Breath of the Wild and will be released on December 5, 2024 for PS5, mobile and PC.

What kind of game is this? Infinity Nikki is a cozy open world adventure game. The game is the fifth in a series of fashion games, and as such is once again all about collecting outfits.

In addition, players can fish, catch bugs, solve puzzles and complete platforming passages – or simply explore the game world, because it looks really good. As cute as the whole thing sounds, Infinity Nikki has a surprisingly dark backstory.

You can currently pre-register on the Infinity Nikki official website. More than 31.5 million people have currently done this (as of November 15, 2024). Now the developers are announcing the release date with a new trailer.

In Infinity Nikki you can explore dungeons in a fashionable way

When does Infinity Nikki release? The open-world game launches on December 5, 2024 and will be available for PS5, iOS, Android and PC via the Epic Store. The developers confirmed this on X.

Infinity Nikki will be free2play and financed via microtransactions, but there is also a pre-order version in the PS Store for just under 10 euros.

In the game you have to collect outfits with special powers, master dungeons and even fight one or two bosses. However, according to initial reports, there are relatively few of the “style battles” for which the series is actually known (via Reddit).

Infinity Nikki is actually intended to be more of an open-world adventure than a pure fashion game. And a real expert has been brought on board for this, as sub-director Kentaro Tominaga has already been involved in several Zelda games, from Windwaker to Breath of the Wild.

Who is it worth it for? Infinity Nikki – like the other Nikki games – is a gacha game that comes with numerous ways to get rid of your money. If you ignore this aspect, what remains is a free open-world adventure with an attractive look.

So if you just want to dress up and explore the game world or experience the story and don’t put too much emphasis on fights, you could definitely take a look. Otherwise you might feel like Marie: The greedy gacha system put me off Genshin Impact for ages – now I regret it
