At least 24 dead, swept away cars and people who floated onto roofs. Tropical Storm Trami has thundered across the northeastern Philippines, bringing with it floods and landslides.
Schools and authorities on the island of Luzon remain closed while rescue operations are underway. In some villages, motor boats are used to reach those in distress in the bodies of water. Most of those who have died have drowned, the number is feared to rise when the police and emergency services can reach areas blocked by the storm.
Luzon is now blowing west, towards the South China Sea.
