Anyone looking for an entertaining and action-packed alternative to the zombie universe of The Walking Dead found what they were looking for on Netflix with the exciting series Black Summer, which showed two seasons of pure struggle for survival in the zombie apocalypse. However, for over two years, fans have been wondering whether there will ever be a third season. Now there is sad certainty.
No third season for Black Summer: Netflix has canceled The Walking Dead alternative
After Netflix mercilessly canceled 29 series last year, Black Summer has now joined the ranks of numerous series without a proper conclusion. As the site What’s on Netflix reports, Black Summer was released some time ago secretly, quietly and silently adjusted.

Unfortunately, Netflix does not announce the cancellation of series itself and in many cases leaves this to the people involved in the series. In the case of Black Summer, co-creator John Hyams announced on X last year that the series would probably not return for further episodes.
Black Summer, a spin-off of the horror series Z Nation, delivered a refreshing alternative to the zombie hit The Walking Dead for two seasons. The series from the trash factory The Asylum swapped post-apocalyptic character drama for intense horror action. The focus was on fights for survival in the midst of raging undead as well as a fast-paced and intense production.
Unfortunately, Black Summer Season 2 ended after eight episodes with a cliffhanger. Several characters’ fates were left open for a sequel that we will never see.
