After counting 93% of the ballots, the outgoing pro-European president Maia Sandu is leading the second round of the presidential election this Sunday, November 3 in Moldova.

After counting 93% of the ballots, the candidate collected 50.9% of the votes and thanked her supporters gathered at her party headquarters, compared to 49.1% for Alexandr Stoianoglo, supported by the pro-Russian socialists.
The first figures gave Alexandr Stoianoglo in front after counting 90% of the ballots, while the results in the big cities, much more favorable to the outgoing president, were not yet known nor the diaspora vote.
Alexandr Stoianoglo, a former prosecutor who wants a rapprochement with Russia, benefits from the vote of rural towns. Moreover, and this is perhaps a first clue: Alexandr Stoianoglo spoke once again to call for calm and ask his supporters to respect the results of the polls.

Police are investigating the organization of flights and buses to transport Moldovan voters between Russia and Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
