• Four out of ten teachers answer that they have no or only one outdoor day per year at their schools. The schools participating in the survey have an average of about two outdoor days per school year, but there is a big difference between different schools.
• Approximately half of the physical education teachers state that less than ten percent of the lesson time is spent on outdoor activities, despite the fact that it is a central part of the curriculum.
• More than half of the respondents, almost seven out of ten of the physical education teachers, believe that the goals in the outdoor life curriculum would be easier to reach if mandatory outdoor days were reintroduced.
• Nine out of ten NO teachers want to be more out in nature with their students.
• One in four physical education teachers that they received too little knowledge about outdoor life during their teacher training. Many teachers request competence development in the area.
• A majority of NO teachers are out to a very small extent. More than half (62 percent) spend less than five percent of their teaching time outdoors.
