Our expert for MMORPGs cannot get out of his villainous skin even at Monster Hunter Wilds

Meinmmo editor Karsten Scholz is currently playing with great enthusiasm Monster Hunter Wilds. In this article he introduces you to his villain … um … hunter.

Anyone who has read my article on my personal “Rook” from Dragon Age: The Veilguard knows that the villain is strong in me. My main character in WoW has been on leather and short sounds for 20 years. In Elder Scrolls Online I play Khajiit night blade, with two one-handed weapons and bow. In Guild Wars 2 it is the thief, in Final Fantasy 14 the monk. I could go on like this forever.

Something is just great to plunge into close combat comparatively mobile and to beat the opponent’s health points with numerous fast attacks, while skillfully avoiding the enemy attacks, which would quickly send one of the rather low defense into the dust.

Who writes here? Karsten Scholz is not only the MMORPG expert from Meinmmo, but also a great friend of the RPG genre. He only got to know and love Monster Hunter late, namely with World. After that, he played generations Ultimate on the Switch and Rise on the PC. And now Wilds.

Double blades? Exactly my thing!

It is clear that this villainous preference has always affected many non-MMORPGs. In Monster Hunter World, after a short training session, I got stuck with the double blades, and they are now my first choice in Wilds.

The official description of the game is the program: Consteeized, wild attack with two blades is simply a lot more than with a thick gear and then the one, certainly very massive blow to it, because the monster simply does not want to stop. Something like that makes me a kir.

In addition, it simply feels good to let go of long sequences with activated demon mode and thus bring countless hits to the finish in a few seconds. Or to start a wound with a focus on the focus and then to vert a click on the back of the creature with a click and to unleash high burst damage.

By the way, I play Monster Hunter Wilds on the PC, with a mouse and keyboard … And that makes the targeted opening and targeting of the wounds almost like cheating. I am annoyed every time I have to press Y to have my Saikrii stopped … You can’t have everything.

With double blades against a huge kite … pure fun!

A question of playing style

By the way, my hunter has so far been on the hunt without human accompaniment, but with his loyal Palico. I very much enjoy that the little racker traps, throws barrels, heals, cleans and distracts monsters. Above all, because I am often too lazy myself to use the whole range of tools.

I usually focus on letting my double blades speak, triggering wounds and then attacking them focused. Only in certain monsters I use my chapter to be used to cause additional damage from a distance.

And of course the Saikrii is used when I have to heal or sharpen the weapons, or when it is time to hop on the back of the monster. So far I have come through the game quite well. The hardest challenges are still in front of me.

The choice of equipment

I have only been in high -ranking for a few hours and are constantly unlocking new weapons and armor. The first high-ranking set that I had built is is the Quematrice set Alpha, which shines with 3x force retirement, 3x unimpressed, 3x fire resistance and 1x alternative distance.

As soon as it is possible, I would like to farm the high-ranking version of the NU UDRA set, which I really liked in low-level. But see for yourself:

The NU-UDRA set awakens memories of Warframe and Destiny.

As far as the weapons are concerned, I currently mostly use Quematrice Silexes III and UTH Ngarpatu I, although if necessary I also switch to other double blades if it is clear that the next monster has a different weakness than water or fire.

But I also want to try it out the guild knights, the improved version of the Chthon Kurasigama, bone axis IV and swirling Fulgur I-however, there are still no individual materials for all the weapons. I have just unlocked the possibility of producing Artian weapons.

As far as my Palico is concerned, the Wächter-Arkveld helmet, the Wächter-Arkveld armor and the Wächter-Arkveld sword. Why? Because it looks damn cool! So far, I don’t think much more about the outfit of the Felinen companion.

Karstens Palico wears white.

How do you tackle the adventure of your hunter and the choice of his equipment or your playing style? Is the look of the clothes more important than the quality (keyword: fashion-hunter)? Treat it in the comments!

Not only Karsten Scholz is currently playing the new Monster Hunter with great joy, but also her colleagues. Most of the time, editor -in -chief Leya Jankowski should have spent with Monster Hunter: Wilds.
