It wasn’t until 15:48 in the first period that Sweden broke the deadlock. The Frölunda duo David Edstrom and Otto Stenberg were behind the goal, which the latter smashed in via the post and into the crossbar.
Then it was again the right cross behind the German goalkeeper Matthias Bittner that the Junior crowns found. This time it was Mattias Hävelid, a regular in Linköping, who nicely made it 2-0.
– It was nice to have such a meeting, says Mattias Hävelid to TV6.
But this was Otto Stenberg’s night. The forward, who plays his home games for Frölunda in Scandinavium in the SHL, scored both 3-0 and 4-0 in the third period and completed his hat trick.
“Otto Stenberg, Otto Stenberg”, chanted the crowd.
The win was Sweden’s second in a row and the team is close behind Canada, who has a better goal difference, in the group.
