A 55-year-old Otterville resident was killed and another person was injured in a single-vehicle collision in Norfolk County on Thursday night.
A pick-up truck struck an unoccupied mini-excavator at the side of the road near the intersection of Turkey Point and McDowell Road East at about 10:16 pm, said Ontario Provincial Police.
The Otterville resident died at the scene. The person’s name was not released.
The other individual was transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Their injuries are not life-threatening, said police.
Police did not say which person was driving the vehicle.
The intersection was closed for several hours for investigation.
