While each country gradually designates the film which will wear its colors for the Oscar for best foreign film, France has chosen its champion. A committee bringing together producers, directors and international sellers chose La passion by Dodin-Bouffant. This film by Tran Anh Hung, winner of the directing prize at the last Cannes festival, was preferred to the Palme d’Or at the same festival, Anatomy of a Fall, and this choice is causing chatter on social networks.
