Oscar Zia talks for the first time about his eating disorders

When Oscar Zia visits Tilde’s pink sofa at Junibacken, he talks for the first time about the eating disorders that have marked him over the years.
I have gone into extremely intense destructive periods, says the artist.

Boxer Anthony Yigit was tonight’s guest Tilde and told what it was that got him to get out of his eating disorders, which characterized his life for so many years. A conversation that later causes Oscar Zia to open up about the problems that characterized him.

– I have done everything I dreamed of since I was a child. But I have suffered a great deal from performance anxiety and had very high demands on myself, it has turned out in all sorts of strange ways, says Oscar in the program.

– Bad relationship with food, with the body, in all the ways that I was able to control my existence in some way – to silence the ghosts that say that you are not good enough, he continues.

“I have had the same problem as Anthony”

He tells more about the evil voices that echoed inside him.

– I have had the same problem as Anthony, that I have super difficulty with food and exercise. That I went into very intense destructive periods with it. Thought I was fat, thought I was ugly, tried to control my anxiety by vomiting or eating or exercising and running, he says.

– There are many vicious cycles that have been difficult to get out of.

Today, Oscar feels that he is in a good place, but when Tilde wonders if he will stay there, he is doubtful. But he has learned to handle it better now.

– If I know myself, I certainly won’t be, but I think I’ve started to be able to handle life’s highs and lows in a different way, says Oscar.
