According to Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (co.k.), security guarantees are one of the biggest issues in Ukraine’s future.
The discussion about the security guarantees that Ukraine needs is lively around the EU summit, although the EU leaders did not outline anything on the matter.
– Safety guarantees are the biggest issues to be solved, for which there is no ready-made model, prime minister Petteri Orpo stated.
According to him, the views of Ukraine, NATO, the Europeans and the United States are needed for a solution.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated at the meeting that Europe’s security guarantees are not enough for Ukraine, but that the United States is needed.
According to Orpo, Europeans have the same message. The United States, as the strongest military power, is wanted.
– Then it can be said that NATO as a whole is involved in defending Ukraine and guaranteeing peace.
According to Orpo, it is also necessary to find out what kind of peacekeeping is involved. Until now, Ukraine has estimated that it gets the best security from the strong weapons of the West.
