You may be hearing about this for the first time, but one of the meanest, most entertaining, and best horror movies in years is getting a prequel. Orphan by Jaume Collet-Serra was released in 2009.
spoiler: He sent the adopted child Esther to a more or less intact family.
There, the supposedly innocent girl turns out to be a murderous psychopath who (see picture above) has only disguised herself as a teenager. She is actually 33 years old. Esther’s history is already touched upon in the first film. Now Orphan: First Kill is dedicated to her extensively. You can see the first trailer for the horror here:

That’s what Orphan: First Kill is all about
The film apparently takes place just a few years before Orphan 1. It looks like Esther (again, Isabelle Fuhrman) will replace Julia Stiles in the family Girl missing for 4 years. Without the family knowing about it, of course. With the 4 years absence, the film creates exactly the degree of alienation that Esther needs to manipulate into the niche between wishful thinking and oblivion.
However, it is questionable how the film deals with our unusual knowledge advantage: Unlike the first part, we now know Esther’s true nature. Watching the manipulative psychopath as she slowly drives the family insane could be very entertaining anyway.
FSK and Star: When will Orphan: First Kill appear in German cinemas?
In fact, Orphan: First Kill doesn’t have an official German launch yet. In the USA it starts on August 19th. But it can’t be too long in this country either, because recently the FSK became known: Orphan: First Kill is 16+.
