There were strong names in the start list with Hanna Lundberg, Emil Svensk, Martin Regborn and Tove Alexandersson in the WC relay.
And it was raucous all the way to the decision. But Tove Alexandersson was responsible for a big miss, and some questionable decisions, on the last stretch, which cost Sweden the gold.
Switzerland won in 58.43.3. Sweden was just over seven seconds behind at the finish and then it looked like a silver medal.

But a few minutes later came the turning point – Sweden was washed out after a miss by Tove Alexandersson. The Swedish law anchor missed the twelfth control.
– I don’t know, I have no idea. When you run, you’re so into it. I can’t answer what went wrong but something was. I’m trying to figure it out myself but I haven’t figured it out yet.
Finland instead received the silver and Norway the bronze.
