Organization: Syrian government forces withdrew from Deir Ezzor | News in brief

Syrian government forces and allied forces backed by Iran suddenly withdrew from the eastern city of Deir Ezzor and its surroundings on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization that follows the war in Syria, told news agency AFP about it.

The leader of the organization by Rami Abdel Rahman according to the Syrian Armed Forces and allies are moving forces towards the city of Palmyra in the central part of the country.

Rebels led by the jihadist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a large-scale offensive last week. Rebel forces are approaching the city of Homs, located west of Palmyra.
