In between playing, De Leeuw explains what the musical instrument is for. “The organ has been placed to accompany the choir, but also to give churchgoers and visitors something: a beautiful piece of music that fits the meeting you have had.” Although you wouldn’t expect it right away, there are also loud noises to be made on the instrument. “We’re still somewhat protected behind the instrument, but if you’re in church… hold on tight,” the organist jokes.
