– We are expecting quite large amounts of snow, together with the wind it can be really difficult with non-existent visibility and difficult to orientate and stand upright, says meteorologist Ida Dahlström, meteorologist at SMHI to TT.
There is also a great risk of frostbite for people who find themselves in vulnerable situations. In addition, it is more difficult to get help in an emergency, as rescue efforts are made more difficult.
– People are strongly advised against going out on the mountain, this is not weather you should be out in, says Ida Dahlström.
