Both Saudi Arabia and Israel expressed optimism on Wednesday ahead of a historic agreement that could normalize relations between the countries.
– I believe that under your leadership, Mr. President, we can create a historic peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he met US President Joe Biden in New York on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly .
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also expresses optimism about the agreement, which is said to be negotiated with the help of the United States.
– Every day we get closer, he says in an interview with Fox News.
Securing the rights of the Palestinians, however, remains the critical issue, emphasizes Mohammed bin Salman.
– For us, the Palestinian issue is very important. We have to solve that part, he tells the TV channel.
