In the battle to avoid the play-offs against relegation, IJsselmeervogels had little use for a victory, but a draw was absolutely useless. So the Rooien, who were allowed to resume the game with a throw-in at the sixteen of Jong Volendam, flew off the starting blocks like a rocket in an attempt to make it 3-4. The furious attacking game resulted in two serious chances, a corner kick and another dangerous moment in the Volendam penalty area. “Then you must be lucky”, was the sober comment of trainer Gert Jan Karsten.
