After the latest documents submitted to the electoral commission this Tuesday, opponent Frank Habineza says he is optimistic for his second participation in a presidential election.

In the last elections, in 2017, our party was very young, we were registered for only four years, but now we have structures, at the district level and at the national level, in 2018 we entered Parliament. Our supporters have increased, what we promised we were able to accomplish, and what we promise now we will be able to accomplish. »

In addition to his candidacy, Frank Habineza submitted the files of his party’s 64 candidates for the legislative elections. Objective: increase the number of two deputies obtained in the last elections. Less than two months before the two elections, the founder of the Democratic Green Party says he is ready to once again face at the polls the head of state Paul Kagame, candidate for re-election for a fourth term.

We are not afraid of that, our party has grown and we have worked since its beginnings. We have faced many challenges, but we have overcome them and we are always ready to face those that come. So we are not afraid of anything, and we hope to do better during these elections. »

Other presidential and legislative aspirants have until May 30 to submit their files to the electoral commission, which will announce, on June 14, the final list of selected candidates.
