Released worldwide this Thursday, November 21, theOppo Find X8 Pro is now accessible to all buyers wishing to obtain a high-end phone. Because yes, the Chinese manufacturer has strived to concentrate all the latest technologies at the heart of its device.
Powered by a highly sophisticated camera and countless AI-powered features, the Find X8 Pro introduces a number of exciting new features. But what is Oppo’s latest gadget really worth?
Design
With its Find X8 Pro, Oppo is banking on a phone much lighter, thanks to a thickness of 8.24 mm which allows it to weigh 215 grams. The Chinese manufacturer is aiming for more advanced ergonomics than ever, with the desire to make the handling pleasant, both in terms of weight and touch.
The rear camera, for its part, has been significantly refined. 40% thinner than in previous generations of smartphones, it once again allows a more pleasant and practical grip.
The Find X8 Pro has an aluminum frame, which provides increased resistance and a certain solidity in the event of an impact. The design, sober, refined and plain, seems timeless and can suit any type of audience.
Built to last, the Find Certified IP68 and IP69, the phone can survive after 30 minutes in water 1.5 meters deep and withstand water jets up to 80°C.
The Find
The Find X8 Pro’s screen, slightly smaller than its predecessor, measures 6.78 inches, with curved edges on each side. It has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 450 PPI (Dot Per Inch). Note that the resolution of the screen, which reaches 2780 x 1264, is slightly lower than its predecessor, the Find X7 Pro, which displayed 3168 x 1440.
Thanks to its high-frequency AMOLED screen, the Find X8 Pro can display high-definition images, all without significant electricity consumption. Oppo has greatly improved the brightness of its latest phone, with a peak capacity of 4500 nits maximum, surpassing theiPhone 16 and its 2000 nits.
For fragile eyes, Oppo’s latest phone offers three modes: Eye comfort, Bedtime mode, and Dark mode, which soften colors and improve user comfort.
Camera
The Find X8 Pro shines above all with its photo quality, thanks to high-performance lenses that can faithfully capture any moment of life. Although the capabilities of Oppo’s latest high-tech model are high, the camera does not benefit from any developments compared to the latest model, the Find X7 Ultra, released in June 2024.
As for selfies, the front camera is capable of capturing 32 MP images. The back of the phone still benefits from four lenses: a main, an ultra-wide-angle and two telephoto lenses, each with a 50 Mpx sensor. All four are brought together in a large ring on the back of the phone, a design specific to the Find X series, which surely does not suit certain profiles, including gamers.
Just like the Find X7 Ultra, the Find X8 Pro promises video quality reaching 4K/1080p at 60/30 fps, for all of the phone’s five lenses.
Photos and videos taken by the Find -View, Stickers, and even Doc Scanner.
Battery
The Find X8 Pro’s battery, with a capacity of 5910 mA, far dominates that of the Find X7 Ultra, which only reached 5000 mA. Thanks to fast charging, the phone’s energy is quickly restored.
Battery life has been greatly improved, with a capacity of 576 hours, in case the phone is left on standby. Headphone owners will be able to keep their Find X8 Pro on hand for almost 26 hours, a particularly remarkable feat.
Featuring a USB-C port, the Find X8 Pro also offers wireless charging capability.
Performance
In terms of performance, the Oppo Find X8 Pro is also well positioned, with a latest generation Mediatek Dimensity 9400 processor. To date, this is the only smartphone in the world to run with such a gadget, with most other brands preferring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The Find X8 Pro benefits from an internal memory of 512 GB, double the Find
Users of the new Oppo unsurprisingly have access to the 5GWi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
A considerable place left to AI
Like all new phones, the Oppo Find X8 Pro will give way to AI, in the hope of optimizing its users’ experience in many areas.
The camera is undoubtedly the application that receives the most artificial intelligence-boosted features, with the addition of AI Editor. AI Editor allows you to accordingly improve photos captured beforehand, through four different options:
- Clarity Improvement: ability to transform a pixelated photo into a sharp 4K image.
- AI Eraser: ability to remove an unwanted element from the photo.
- Unblur: possibility of correcting the blur of a rapid movement.
- Anti-reflective: possibility of correcting the reflection of glasses or windows.
Many other AI-powered features are scattered throughout the Find X8 Pro. All are nevertheless listed in the AI Toolbox, accessible in one click on the smartphone. Thanks to artificial intelligence, Oppo allows you to read a web page aloud while turning off your phone, to summarize it in a few lines, to respond to a message without user intervention, to write a text from a prompt…
Revolutionary zoom capability
Zoom, a major drawback for many phones, is a major asset for the Find X8 Pro. Powered by AI, Oppo’s latest phone features the ability to zoom up to 60x without deteriorating photo quality. Entitled Zoom Telescope AI, the new functionality from the Chinese manufacturer allows users to capture distant or even very distant elements with great clarity.
The AI is responsible for analyzing distant details in order to optimize their rendering and refine their contours.
The Quick Button, to draw the camera as quickly as possible
Thanks to the addition of the Quick Button, Oppo seeks to optimize access to the camera, which is sometimes too long to capture a precise moment. Similar to the “capture button” of the Iphone 16, this addition allows you to access the camera application (by double-tapping), to zoom in and out (by sliding your finger), to take a photo (by tapping once)… etc.
The multi-use button, already very practical, plans a future update intended to optimize it further.
Price
High-end, the technical quality of the Oppo Find X8 Pro is of course reflected in the price. Not everyone necessarily has the means to acquire this latest model, which costs €1,199 (charger and cable not included).
