OPP charges several people with impaired driving

Several people face impaired driving charges after being stopped by Norfork OPP over the long weekend.

On Friday at about 10:30 pm, officers conducting a RIDE check at Highway 59 in Delhi charged a 61-year-old Norfolk County woman with having a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit.

On Saturday at about 12:45 am, a police officer on patrol investigated a vehicle at a Chapel Street location in Simcoe.

A 17-year-old driver was taken into custody and charged with impaired driving; being a young driver with a blood-alcohol concentration above zero; driving without proper headlights; underage cannabis possession; and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

On Saturday at about 2:30 am, an officer on patrol investigated a vehicle at a Norfolk Street North location in Simcoe.

The driver, a 51-year-old Brant County man, was charged with operation while impaired.

On Saturday at about 7 pm, the Norfolk County Marine Unit investigated a vessel in Lake Erie, off of Turkey Point.

A 49-year-old Brantford man was charged with operation while impaired, and operating human-powered pleasure craft without personal flotation device or lifejacket of appropriate size for each person on board.

Amplify, lights taken from storage area

Police are investigating after an amplifier and lights were taken from a storage unit in Delhi.

Norfolk OPP investigated the break-in on Monday at about 1:30 pm to a storage area outside a Main Street apartment building.
