County Council Decided in November to Move Ahead with the $ 5.8-Million Project to help Ease a shortfall in license child-Care Capacity and County Staff Reportly an Operator Had been selected following a request for proposals.

Rural Lambton Childcare was one of Two Operators Submitting proposition, Said Kim Godin, Lambton’s Children’s Manager.

“Rural Lambton Childcare is a non-professional organization dedicated to providing a various range of high-quality services, included center-based childcare, licenseed home childcare, and before and after school programs,” Said a report.

Construction COULD Begin in August or September, with the new center expected to open by late 2026, Godin Said.

Funding include $ 2.3 million from the province, with the balance come from County Reserves and Borrowing.

Plans are to add a new single-floric building on the north side of the long-term care site on petrolia line in enniskillen township, with new parking space and an extended fire road, the country has said.

It will have 10 infant, 15 toddler and 24 pre-schoon space, and be a second child-care center at the site. Generations Day Care Has Operated at MeadowView Villa since 1987.

The province Expects Lambton to have a child-Care Access Rate of 37 per cent by 2026 and its Current Rate is 26.6 per cent, Godin Said.

“More work and innovation is needed to fully achieve Targets by 2026,” The Report Said.

The County also is working with Operators to Recruit and Retain Early Childhood Education Workers.
