Since the death of Franco and the end of the fascist dictatorship, Spain has been transitioning smoothly to democracy. On February 23, 1981, soldiers attempted an attack on the congresses, but were arrested and several of them were imprisoned. May 23, 1981, eleven men robbed the central bank of Barcelona and took 200 people hostage. At first, the authorities thought it was a “ordinary” heist. The authorities will quickly realize that this armed group is not only interested in money, they are demanding the release of four of the soldiers responsible for the coup d’état three months earlier.
