opening of political dialogue without the opposition

In the Central African Republic, on the morning of Monday, March 21, the republican dialogue began, promised for a long time by President Touadéra, but which is finally taking place without the main political opponents. The latter, in a statement on Sunday, announced their withdrawal, saying that their demands, namely the inclusion of armed groups and the inclusion on the agenda of the post-election crisis, had not been met.

This is without the tenors of the opposition that the dialogue began, this Monday morning, in the hemicycle of the National Assembly. Several hundred people were present: members of the government, deputies, diplomats… There were also former presidents Michel Djotodia and Catherine Samba-Panza, the former warlord Abdoulaye Hissène.

The chairman of the preparatory committee, the Minister of State, Obed Namsio, said he regretted the absence of the opposition. Apart from two representatives in the presidium and despite the ” outstretched hand from the Head of State “. ” the door is always open “, he launched.

It’s not one more dialogue, but one more chance for peace declared President Touadéra, before giving, with a bell, the signal to start for three days of work in committee and then three days of debates.

The topics covered will be very broad. The objective of the organizers is to put an end to the crisis and restore peace, without however specifying by what concrete measures, hoping that a solution will emerge from the discussions.
