Opened leisure yard – detained in cocaine targets with the “strawberry”

Police: “Conscious that he is still active” • Over a ton of cocaine was seized

In local media, the background was noticed by several of the people who participated and started the business in a place in Västmanland – they had previously been sentenced to prison sentences.

A man with a leading role in the leisure yard, who previously served a longer prison sentence for a violent crime, stated that he put the crime behind him. In January, he was arrested on suspicion of assisting in the case where over 1.3 tonnes of cocaine, worth over SEK 1 billion, were seized in Nynäshamn.

“Strawberry” arrested in the same target

The gang leader Ismail Abdo, also called the “Strawberry”, was arrested in his absence in the case last week. Abdo was previously part of the Foxtrot network, before the internal split in 2023 which resulted in a wave of violence with several murders. The prosecutor believes that there are several networks linked to the case.

– It looks like there are several networks, which are allied with each other, says state prosecutor Daniel Jonsson

The man who has a leading role in the leisure yard is likely to be suspected of assisting in extremely serious drug offenses.

– In general when it comes to assistants, I usually consider that they have not been in place, they have been in place they are usually part of the completed crime in consensus. But I can’t say anything specific about his role in the whole thing when a preliminary investigation is underway, says Daniel Jonsson.

Police: “Conscious that he is still active”

The leisure farm, which has no connection to the municipality, did not go unnoticed past the police when it opened.

– We have been there and visited it, as you do with many other youth farms. We have also seen that young people are there at the same time as there are adult criminal individuals in the room, says Tommy Alriksson, chief aspirant in the Local Police area Västra Mälardalen.

The man arrested stated that he quit crime – a picture that is not shared by the police.

– The person who is now in custody has served a penalty for other serious crime and started an association in order to run a youth farm. It is a fine purpose in itself, but we are aware that he is still active as a criminal, says Tommy Alriksson.

The Warning: Inappropriate Location for Young

Due to the police’s concern, an operation was carried out with several authorities in the leisure yard earlier this year. “The police had, on previous visits, seen problems linked to the fire protection

– We have chosen to focus on this from a perspective to prevent new recruitment of young people. Therefore, we also want to say that it is inappropriate to be there, as we see this as a possible arena to recruit young people in crime, says Tommy Alriksson.
