Van Rouwendaal, previously world champion in 2022, took the lead again in the penultimate round. In the final round, the Baarn native was joined by the Australian Moesha Johnson, her training buddy in Magdeburg, Germany. Johnson pulled through and in no time had a gap with the rest. Van Rouwendaal led the chase, but was passed by De Valdés.
