– We brought home another group of hostages, children and women, and I am touched to the bottom of my heart, the whole country is, when we see families reunited, Netanyahu said in a video statement.
The Israeli prime minister also says he has told Biden that after the ceasefire, Israel will resume fighting to meet its goals.
Israel has three goals in the war, according to Netanyahu: Eliminate Hamas, get the hostages back, and ensure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel again.
Hamas ready for extension
A temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been in place since early Friday morning and is to be in effect for four days. According to the agreement, at least 50 of the hostages are to be released by the militant Islamist movement Hamas during that time. 150 Palestinian prisoners to be released by Israel.
Netanyahu points out that the truce could be extended to free more hostages, ten more every day.
Earlier on Sunday, a source close to Hamas stated that the Islamist group informed the mediators that it is willing to extend the ongoing ceasefire by two to four days, reports AFP.
